Group Engineering Manager (Infrastructure Direction)

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple DevOps engineering teams (30–50+ DevOps engineers)
- Own delivery, quality, and technical outcomes across your engineering area
- Partner closely with Product, Trading, and Senior Engineering leadership to translate business requirements into technical execution
- Drive engineering strategy and cross-team alignment across the area
- Coordinate architectural decisions and their implementation across teams
- Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of production systems
- Own the area roadmap and resource allocation across teams
- Identify and address systemic technical and organizational risks and ensure the long-term scalability and health of the engineering area
- Hire, onboard, mentor, and grow Engineering Managers and support the development of engineering teams
- Foster a culture of ownership, customer first, and result-oriented
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience as a DevOps or Back End Software Engineer
- 3+ years in an Engineering Manager role, with experience managing Engineering Managers or Team Leads
- Background in financial systems, trading platforms, or other high-reliability domains
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies
- Experience operating systems on AWS (EC2, networking, security, monitoring)
- Familiarity with observability tools (metrics, logging, alerting) and performance monitoring
Will be a plus
- Experience working with on-premise infrastructure and hybrid environments
- Hands-on experience in Ruby
- Experience with low-latency or high-throughput systems
- Exposure to trading, fintech, or market-data platforms
- Experience scaling teams and systems
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools
